Abstract
Summary:When studying hydroxylation of progesterone to 11-alpha-hydroxyprogesterone by the strainRhizopus nigricans 155, it was found that the addition of progesterone to the medium led to the elimination of other metabolic processes in the medium for the duration of hydroxylation. The resulting 11-alpha-hydroxyprogesterone did not affect the metabolism of the strain.
