Abstract
The purposes of this study are to examine the validity and reliability of the 2014 UN E-Government Development Index (EGDI) and to make suggestions for improving the EGDI. The confirmatory factor and principal factor analyses reveal that Online Serice (OS), Telecommunication Infrastructure (TI) and Human Capital (HC) have low construct validity in terms of convergence and discriminant validity. Furthermore, the higher order factor analyses indicate that the fit indices of the EGDI model are low. The results suggest a bad fit to the data. Based on these findings, this study discusses some considerations to improve the EGDI.
