북한의 음악예술인 양성은 음악예술을 체제선전의 전면에 내세운 북한정권의 의도와 밀접히 연관되어 있다. 본 연구는 음악예술인 양성이 전문음악예술교육기관에서의 교육과 보통교육부문에서의 소조 활동이라는 두가지 방식으로 이루어진다고 보고, 음악예술인 양성체계를 ‘전문 음악예술인’과 ‘비전문 음악예술인’으로 구분하여 살펴보았다. 문헌 연구와 심층면접을 병행하여 진행한 연구를 통해 전문 음악예술인 양성은 독연가 육성을 위한 피라미드식 특수교육체계를 통해 이루어지며, 비전문 음악예술인 양성은 선전대 활동을 중심으로 하는 학교음악소조, 공연을 위해 기량을 쌓는 소년궁전(회관)소조를 통해 이루어짐을 밝혔다.
In North Korea, the education of musical artists is closely related to the North Korean government’s intention to vanguardize the propaganda value of musical arts. The education of musical artists is carried out in two ways: education in professional institutions for musical artists and team activities in the general education field. Thus for research purposes, this study classifies the education system of musical artists into ‘professional musical artists’ and ‘amateur musical artists’. Literature review and in-depth interviews were conducted. This research finds that professionals are educated through a pyramid-type special education system to train soloists, while amateurs are educated through school music groups, which focus on propaganda activities, and the Children’s Palace (Hall) groups, which foster skills for musical performances.
