Abstract
Flemish, 17th – 18th century, male. Baptised 21 February 1686 in Antwerp; died 28 May 1755, in Antwerp. Painter. Military subjects, scenes with figures, genre scenes, hunting scenes, interiors with figures. François Xavier Henri Verbeeck studied with Pierre Casteels. In 1709 he was a lecturer at Antwerp and a member of the guild, and in 1719 he married Mar. Cath. Casteels. He was one of the directors of the academy at Antwerp, and the father of Anne and Elizabeth Verbeeck....
