Abstract
A combination of five chips comprise the micro Eagle chip set from Data General. This set is expected to form the foundation for the Eclipse superminicomputer which is a 32-Bit machine that supports 4 Gigabytes of virtual memory. Included in the set are: 1) a CPU, 2) a microsequencer, 3) a floating-point unit, 4) an I-O unit, and 5) a burst multiplexer channel unit. The chips were produced using an advanced titanium disilicide n-MOS technique and feature two micrometer technology. Block diagrams showing the set's operation are featured.
