Abstract
A novel activity of recombinant ADAM12-S, a variant of human metalloproteinase ADAM 12, and its domain deletion mutants on S-carboxymethylated transferrin is reported. The results of the study indicate unique enzymatic properties of ADAM12 among the members of the ADAM family of metalloproteinases.
