Abstract
The optical properties, including quantum yields (QY), photobleaching and blinking, is made independent of nanocrystal quantum dot (NQD) surface chemistry and chemical environment by growth of a very thick inorganic shell. It is shown that addition of an inorganic shell of a higher bandgap semiconductor material can enhance QYs and improve the stability.
