Abstract
The complex salts ((DienH.sub.3)[IrCl.sub.6](NO.sub.3) (I), (DienH.sub.3)[PtCl.sub.6](NO.sub.3) (II), and (DienH.sub.3)[IrCl.sub.6].sub.0.5[PtCl.sub.6].sub.0.5(NO.sub.3) (III) (where Dien is NH.sub.2(CH.sub.[2).sub.2]NH(CH.sub.[2).sub.2]NH.sub.2) were synthesized and characterized by elemental, X-ray diffraction, and thermal analyses and by electronic and IR spectroscopies. Solid solution of the composition [Ir.sub.0.35]Pt.sub.0.65 was obtained by decomposition of compound III in the atmosphere of hydrogen.
