Abstract
Diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy has been used to investigate the reaction of alumina with nitrogen oxides. It was possible to see in situ formation of water, nitrate and intermediate nitrate in the reaction of NO2 and HNO3 with the alumina surface.
