Abstract
The effective resistance of a Josephson junction and of an rf superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) cooled at a temperature between 18mK and 35mK was calculated. An effective resistance was observed for both devices which was based on a fit of the data with a simplified solution of the master equation describing the system dynamics. The value was found to be promising for the realization of qu-bits realized via Josephson junction.
