Abstract
This paper represents the cost saving & performance comparison in case of replacement of Copper winding to Aluminium winding of single phase fractional horsepower asynchronous induction motor of hermetic compressor. Electric machine design software ANSYS Electronics desktop is used for initial sizing and performance guessing. Practical sample making and finally performance validation is also done after the design change. This paper also shows performance characteristic, Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) & Co-efficient of Performance (COP) comparison for changing materials & winding parameters after making physical sample.
