Abstract
This paper presents a new control strategy for a six-bus ac–dc hybrid nanogrid system for modern buildings .The proposed nanogrid consist of one AC bus and six DC buses. The topology includes different modes of operation, and the modes are selected using two timer switches. Two modes are for battery charging and the other two modes for taking outputs from High Voltage (HV), Medium Voltage(MV) and Low Voltage(LV) Buses. High voltage AC can also be made available from the bus. Home appliances of different voltage ratings can be connected to the same nanogrid due to the availability of different voltages. For purposefully avoiding the series connection, the batteries and PV modules are arranged for low voltage ratings. and with the help of boost and buck converter installed in the system we can decide the voltage ratings.
