Abstract
A novel ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna with frequency diversity characteristics using PIN-diode switches is presented. By using two PIN-diodes in the radiation patch, stop-bands of 0.7 GHz (from 3.6 to 4.3 GHz) for rejection of C-band satellite signals and 0.675 GHz (from 5.15 to 5.825 GHz) for rejection of WLAN signals can be suppressed independently. The designed antenna has a small size of 30 × 29 mm 2 and operates over the frequency band between 3.0 and 11.0 GHz.
