Abstract
Obstacle detection is a key technology for marine intelligent transportation system. In this paper, an obstacle detection technique for marine intelligent transportation system based on Maximum Likelihood (ML) processor is proposed. Different from most of the former source localization algorithms, our proposed algorithm explicitly makes use of both the horizontal L-Shaped array and the underwater acoustic propagation model to achieve a relatively high spatial resolution. Numerical simulations are presented to demonstrate the superior performance of our proposed algorithm.
