Abstract
A wideband logarithmic-like amplifier based on 65-nm process has been proposed using series limiters to approximate the logarithmic response curve. A compensatory resistor has broadened the operating band by counteracting transistor parasitic capacitance. Finally, simulation results demonstrated that the bandwidth is more than 600 MHz, and the gain is 54 dB. The dynamic range simulated in three corners (tt, ff, ss) is about 50 dB. Power dissipation is about 20 mW, and core chip area is only 282 μm × 50 μm.
