Abstract
Objective: To investigate the diagnostic value of preoperative peripheral blood neutrophil / lymphocyte ratio ((NLR)), platelet / lymphocyte ratio ((PLR)) and systemic immune inflammatory index ((SII)) in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC). Methods: The clinical and pathological data of 197 patients with laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma and 250 patients with benign laryngeal tumors treated by operation in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology of the first affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Science and Technology from June 2014 to October 2020 were analyzed retrospectively. The differences of NLR, PLR and SII in peripheral blood of the two groups were compared, and the value of single index and combined index in differential diagnosis of laryngeal diseases was evaluated by receiver working characteristic curve ((ROC)). Results: There was significant difference in NLR, PLR and SII between laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma and laryngeal benign tumor (p< 0.05), but there was no significant difference in LMR between laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma and laryngeal benign tumor (p> 0.05). According to the results of the (ROC) curve of the subjects' working characteristics, the area under the ROC curve of NLR, PLR, SII and joint index is 0.756, 0.707, 0.785.0.807 respectively, and the sensitivity and specificity are 72%, 73%, 81%, 53%, 75%, 87% and 65%, respectively. Conclusion: NLR, PLR, SII and combined indexes have certain clinical significance in the differentiation of laryngeal carcinoma from benign laryngeal tumor.
