Abstract
The article discusses research on whether specific histone modifications are prognostic for prostate cancer relapse and whether prostate tumorigenesis changes the expression of epigenetic genes. A prostate cancer cohort of 279 cases was used to assess immunohistochemically global levels of histone H3 lysine-18 acetylation (H3K18Ac) and histone H3 lysine-4 dimethylation (H3K4diMe). Findings revealed the prognostic potential of histone modifications in prostate cancer and its importance in predicting individual patient response to epigenetic therapies.
