The article provides insights for golf superintendents on the pros and cons of using bunker liners in golf courses. Among the factors to consider in selecting bunker liner are material costs and availability of warranty. The use of sod staples to fix the bunker liner to the subgrade is not recommended because of its effect on the performance of the liner. The bunker subgrade soils should be excavated to address the risk for frost.
