Abstract
Chapter 3 of the book "Insect Resistance Management: Biology, Economics and Prediction," by David W. Onstad is presented. It explores pest management issues including the use of toxins obtained from the insect pathogenic bacterium Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) and restrictions in managing insects using chemicals due to the limited knowledge of the biochemical and molecular aspects of insects. Moreover, it examines the topic on insect resistance in a group of classic pesticide classes.
