Abstract
Bioassay-guided fractionation of an EtOH extract obtained from the roots of the Madagascan plant Dodonaea viscosaled to the isolation of two new antiproliferative oleanane-type triterpenoid saponins, dodoneasides A and B (1and 2). The structures of these two new compounds were elucidated using 1D and 2D NMR experiments and mass spectrometry. Compounds 1and 2showed antiproliferative activity against the A2780 human ovarian cancer cell line with IC50values of 0.79 and 0.70 μM, respectively.
