Abstract
The article discusses evolution of music through early twentieth century. Topics discussed include early classical music and inventions like Gramophone by Alexander Graham Bell and radio by Guglielmo Marconi, development of folk music like jazz and blues and its slavery and African-American roots, and "Jelly Roll Blues" by Pianist Jelly Roll Morton as the first ever jazz arrangement to be printed.
