Abstract
The article discusses the research proposal which aims to conserve the name Malus toringoides against Pyrus bhutanica (Malus bhutanica) (Rosaceae). Widely accepted by horticulturists and taxonomists and has been used for 74 years, Malus toringoides is believed have also been widely distributed in China. In addition, it is likewise claimed to have a great economic value for apple rootstocks.
