Abstract
The article discusses the American Academy of Periodontology's (AAP's) use of a best evidence consensus (BEC) model for defining periodontal phenotype modification therapy (PhMT) for purposes of dental restoration and orthodontic therapy. Topics, including gingival recession and phenotypes, peri-implantitis, disease classification, dental prostheses and keratinized mucosa, are discussed.
