Abstract
Highlights from the article: This is foreboding for rainforest trees because such trees are adapted to high rainfall. Although there is no doubt that trees will die if droughts are severe or prolonged, killing trees was not the purpose of the experiment. In some earlier research we conducted at the Daintree, we examined wood anatomy of a broader range of trees and other plant lifeforms, such as the lianas and shrubs, to profile the water conduction strategies of these different plant ecological groups.
