Abstract
The article reports on the rapid diagnosis of acute bacterial meningitis by using latex agglutination test. It is said that an effective approach of diagnosis of acute bacterial meningitis should be able to differentiate it from acute viral, fungal and tuberculous meningitis. A delay in the treatment and a wrong choice of antibiotics can lead to adverse outcomes in acute bacterial meningitis.
