Abstract
The article reports the revision of the name of two species of South American Microgyne. The author claims that the synonymy of Microgynella to Microgyne is not valid and illegitimate. The new species Microgyne marchesiana and Microgyne trifurcata were described including their fruit and seed anatomy, etymology, distribution and habitat, and phenology. Illustrations of the two species were also provided.
