Abstract
The author explains the effect of anesthesia on the mortality and morbidity of septic surgical patients. Topics covered include some factors contributing to the pathology of sepsis, the treatment for sepsis and several drugs used for the induction of anesthesia including ketamine, etomidate and propofol. Also cited are some adjunct medications used in providing anesthesia care for the septic patient.
