Abstract
The article discusses the effectiveness of the Social Care Optimization Program in the Emergency (SCOPE) model in improving both patient care and hospital emergency department (ED) operations in the U.S. and Canada. The model aims to provide better social work services to ED patients. Also mentioned are SCOPE's components like prescreening/early identification, co-care planning by the social worker and patient/family, and patient advocacy.
