Abstract
The article presents the guidelines for erectile dysfunction (ED), which was approved by the Japanese Society for Sexual Medicine (JSSM) in 2006. The appearance of oral medication for the treatment of ED has led to the development of the guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of ED. Moreover, the guidelines are for general physicians, which includes most urologists who do not specialize in the area of sexual dysfunction.
