Abstract
This article discusses a case study of a 59-year-old man with secondary syphilis who presented with symptoms of jaundice, weight loss, and hepatic nodular lesions. Initially, the nodules were suspected to be metastatic disease, but further investigations revealed that they were inflammatory pseudotumors (IPTs) of the liver. The patient was treated with intramuscular Benzathine Penicillin G, which resulted in the resolution of symptoms and normalization of liver function tests. The article emphasizes the importance of considering syphilis as a potential cause of unexplained liver and bone lesions, even in immunocompetent individuals, and highlights the significance of thorough physical and dermatological examinations for accurate diagnosis.
