Abstract
Presents a study which examined the effects of surface roughness on cylindrical grazing incidence x-ray optics for transition radiation (TR) from aluminum, titanium and copper foil stacks. Basic design issues in using cylindrical optics for focusing TR; Description of the experimental setup and results; Model for determining under what circumstances surface roughness effects are important.
