Abstract
Examines the effects of pediatric perioperative teaching, presented in the form of a book, on presurgical children and their families and assesses the behavioral changes seen at induction of anesthesia in the weeks following surgery. Use of the Vernon behavioral questionnaire in measuring behavioral changes; Assessment of a Global Mood Score in the perioperative holding area; Level of anxiety exhibited by children who received the book, on the day of the surgery and weeks following surgery.
